Introduction of Anamani Group

Introduction:
        Due to the shortage of drinking water, the residential house is purchasing drinking water for this purpose. As such the scope of processed water business in Kathmandu valley is very high. Taking advantage of increasing scope of business within Kathmandu, Anamani Group of Industries is producing and selling processed drinking water in 20 liters/jar and 1 liter/bottle with brand name 'Aqua-Anamani' and 'Aqua-Santusti'.

Source of Water:
        The company offers deep boring water as a source of raw water from own company.

Quality Control of Water:
        Purity and safety are the two main factors taken carefully. Great cares goes on tapping the source of deep boring water. The company has facilities to test pH, TDS, Hardness, residual chlorine and Alkalinity. The raw and processed water is regular checked by CEMAT laboratory for physical, chemical and microbial parameters to assure the quality.

Purification Plant System:
        The water from deep boring is pumped into the Aeration Perforated Trays, Masonry Filters, Sand Filter, Activate Carbon Filter, Softener Filter, 5 Micron Filter, 1 Micron Filter, 0.5 Micron Filter and then Reverse Osmosis System followed by ultra violet ray disinfection and Ozone Generator System.

*     Aeration Perforated Trays
        Water from the deep boring is pumped into the Aeration perforated trays.


*     Masonry Filters
        The water is pumped and passed through Masonry Filters where fine clay, dirt, muddy water, dust particles, suspended solids are removed.


*     Sand Filter
        Raw water is pumped to Multigrade Sand Filter to remove undissolved/dust, suspended solids and produce clear filtrate for R.O. feed.

*     Activate Carbon Filter
        In this stage, the water passes through specially treated, silver impregnated activated carbon which reduces colour, odour, absorbs organics, impurities, free chlorine, pesticides and produce clear filtrate for R.O. feed.

*     Softener
        The calcium and magnesium salts by passing the water through abed of cat ion exchange resin. Once the hardness is removed scale formation can be avoided in the membranes of Reverse Osmosis system.

*     Micron Filters
        After antiscalant treatment, water is passed through multi micron cartridges filter of rating 5 micron, 1 micron, 0.5 micron arranged in Stainless Steel housing to produce clear pretreated water suitable for Reverse Osmosis feed.


*     Reverse Osmosis System
        Since the water passing through the R.O. plant works on higher pressure because of the osmotic pressure, therefore the feed water to the membrane system is pressurized by pumping through a high pressure pump wherein there will be a rejection of the dissolved solids and the permeate obtained at the end of the system. R.O. membrane (0.0001 micron pores) is the sensety part of this machine which removes all kind of Biological (Bacteria, colifom and virus) and complicated chemical dissolves in water.

*     Ultra Violet System
        This unit produces ultra violet rays of specified wave length 254 Nm, which are radically passed through the water column. As a result water get sterilized at one more step to ensure water free from microbiological impurities. This process has been documented by W.H.O. as a proven method for eliminations of water borne diseases caused by bacteria & viruses.

*     Ozonation System
        To make perfect and absolute oxidation, ozone is the latest technology which converts oxygen mole to ozone by electronic device and when ozone (O3) is diffused in water planty of nascent oxygen(O) which not only increase the dissolved oxygen to saturation level also the residual level 0.2-0.4 of ozone ensure a perfect quality of long shelf life.

Washing and Filling Water:
        Washing and Filling are done currently in manual system although the filling taps are used. The personnel hygiene of the technical staff is carefully observed before entering the production units. The process for jar washing and filling of jar and bottle are as below:

        The purification system is one of the essential and crucial tools to assure the end product quality and safety. The water passed from different stage with their own special functionality. Before using the passing of raw material to main machine, it is passed from the local treatment with aeration and iron masonry filters. The details of the processing system are mentioned above. The main machine is divided into 3 major filtration systems namely pre-filtration; post filtration including more over 10 steps of the filtration has been carried out until the end product.
